Instagram messages are often displayed in different colors to signify the state or kind of the message. However, it is important to note that Instagram can be updated, and the platform may add changes or new features beyond that date.
As of my last update, Instagram messages were generally color-coded as follows:
- Grey Bubbles: Regular text messages.
- Blue Bubbles: Indicates a direct message that has been sent using Instagram Direct, often between two users.
To change the theme of your Instagram messages, you can do the following:
- Tap or in the top right of your feed
- Select a conversation from your inbox
- Tap the chat name at the top
- Tap Theme
- Select a chat theme
You can also edit a message you’ve sent on Instagram by:
- Tapping and holding a message in your conversation
- Tapping Edit
- Updating the message text
- Tapping to update the message in the chat
